1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how LTAI ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our desktop application and website. We are committed to handling your data transparently and only collecting what we need to provide the Service.
2. Information we collect
We collect only the minimum information needed to operate LTAI:
- Account information: your email address and a hashed password, used to create and authenticate your account
- Subscription information: your current plan, subscription identifier, and renewal status, provided to us by Paddle
- Usage data: approximate daily usage time of the translation feature, stored locally on your computer to enforce plan limits
- Diagnostic data: if you encounter errors and choose to report them, we may collect logs that help us debug the issue
We do not collect: your name, address, phone number, browsing history, or any data unrelated to operating the Service.
3. Audio processing
When you start translation in LTAI, the app captures audio from your computer and sends short audio segments to our AI translation provider (OpenAI) for transcription and translation. Once a segment has been translated and displayed as a subtitle, it is immediately discarded.
We do not store, log, record, or share the audio you translate. Audio is processed in transit only. Our AI providers process audio under their own privacy policies (see Section 5 below) and, in OpenAI's case, do not use API data for model training by default.
4. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Authenticate your account and protect against unauthorized access
- Process payments and manage your subscription
- Enforce plan limits (such as daily usage caps)
- Communicate important updates about the Service
- Respond to support requests and feedback
- Comply with legal obligations
We never sell your personal data. We do not share your data with advertisers or use it for advertising purposes.
5. Third-party services we use
LTAI relies on the following third-party services, which may process limited data on our behalf:
- Supabase — authentication and database hosting (your email and subscription info) · Privacy policy

6. Data storage and security
Your account data is stored on Supabase's secure servers, which use industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. Login sessions on your device are encrypted using Windows DPAPI, so only your user account can read them.
While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, no system is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we will notify you and any relevant authorities if a data breach affecting your information occurs.
7. Your rights (GDPR and similar laws)
If you are located in the European Union, United Kingdom, or another region with applicable data protection laws, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Correction: ask us to fix inaccurate information
- Deletion: use the "Delete account" option in the app to permanently remove your data, or contact us
- Portability: request your data in a machine-readable format
- Objection: object to specific uses of your data
- Withdraw consent: withdraw any consent you have given at any time

8. Data retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile and authentication records are permanently removed from our database within 30 days. Backup copies may persist for up to 90 days before being deleted automatically. Some information may be retained longer if required by law (for example, payment records for tax purposes).
9. International data transfers
Your data may be processed in countries outside your own, including the United States and the European Union, where our service providers operate. We rely on standard contractual clauses and other lawful mechanisms required by data protection laws to ensure your data is protected during these transfers.
10. Children's privacy
LTAI is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
11. Cookies and tracking
Our website uses essential cookies required for basic functionality. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. The desktop app does not use cookies.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. Material changes will be communicated via the app or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when the policy was last revised.
